The Project
Domis Utilities managed the delivery of all critical infrastructure works for Viadux from early engagement through to final connection. Our role provided programme certainty in a constrained city centre location by aligning utilities milestones with the main build sequence and protecting key dates for testing, commissioning and occupation.
The scope included a new high voltage substation to secure resilient electrical capacity, coordinated permanent water and gas connections, and full utility disconnections to clear legacy services. Complex offsite works were planned and delivered in step with the construction programme so that energisation and handover could proceed without delay.
Our approach is permit first and programme led. Strong relationships with local authorities and statutory providers brought approvals forward, while integrated control across disconnections, temporary strategies and permanent connections removed handoffs and reduced risk on the critical path. One accountable team coordinated design, installation, inspections and energisation to achieve right first time outcomes.
The resident experience at Viadux is supported by reliable utilities infrastructure that underpins an extensive amenity offer. Facilities include a state of the art gym with personal training, yoga and group exercise studios, a private lounge and an in house cinema with immersive surround sound, a karaoke room for social events and a unique swimming pool and spa. Grade II listed viaducts are sensitively reimagined with concierge and lounge spaces to connect heritage character with contemporary city living.
By delivering the high voltage substation, water and gas connections and comprehensive disconnections in line with the programme, Domis Utilities enabled seamless delivery at this landmark tower. Viadux demonstrates utilities without uncertainty in Manchester city centre, with future ready power and water that match the ambition and quality of the development.
